SMS Notifications — Consent & Opt-In
Wag On Home sends transactional text messages for transport coordination. SMS is entirely optional — transport booking and trip details work the same with or without it. Here's exactly how it works, who gets messages, and how to opt out.
How SMS Opt-In Works
Every SMS from Wag On Home is triggered by a specific transport event — scheduling, status updates, delivery confirmations. There are no automated recurring messages and no marketing texts. Here's the exact flow:
A rescue coordinator books a transport run
When creating a transport, the coordinator enters the receiver's name and phone number on the scheduling form.
The coordinator chooses whether to send SMS
An opt-in checkbox appears next to the phone number input. The checkbox is never pre-selected. The coordinator must actively check it to enable SMS notifications for that receiver.
The receiver always gets trip details
The receiver receives transport details via a web link regardless of SMS choice. If the coordinator checked the SMS box, the receiver additionally gets a text with the same details.
Additional updates are event-driven
Follow-up messages are only sent when something changes — driver delayed, ETA updated, or delivery completed. Each message is manual, not automated.
Opt out any time
Every message includes opt-out instructions. Reply STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE to stop receiving messages immediately.
Without SMS — How It Works
If a receiver does not opt in to SMS, or opts out later, transport coordination continues normally. The receiver accesses all trip details through their personal magic link — a web page that shows live transport status, pet information, driver updates, and delivery confirmations. The receiver is responsible for checking this link for updates during the transport. Rescues are encouraged to confirm the receiver understands this before the run.
Opt-In Form (What Coordinators See)
Below is a representation of the SMS opt-in interface that rescue coordinators use when adding a receiver to a transport run. The checkbox is never pre-selected and appears alongside the phone number input.
Add Receiver to Transport
By checking this box, the receiver will receive one SMS per pet added to this transport run, plus status updates if the schedule changes. If left unchecked, the receiver will still receive a magic link to view all trip details — they are responsible for checking it for updates during the transport.

Auto-Reply Messages

How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any message
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, or REVOKE to any Wag On Home text message. You'll receive an auto-reply confirming that you've been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent. Your transport continues as scheduled — you can still track all updates through your magic link.
